For Joe Bowen, remodeling is not a job he found. It is the one he grew up in. Our company opened in Crofton in 1953, founded by Russel and Katherine Bowen, and three generations later Joe still leads it from the same community his family has served for more than 70 years. That kind of history is rare in this trade, and Joe protects it by staying close to the work every day.
You will find Joe alongside our design, sales, and production teams, not tucked away behind a desk. He knows the homes across Anne Arundel County, how the older kitchens and baths around here were built, and what it takes to update them without cutting corners. When a homeowner asks a hard question about layout, budget, or what is realistic, Joe is the one who answers it plainly.
One thing Joe insists on is that homeowners get to see and touch their choices before they commit. That is why we keep a full kitchen and bath showroom right here in Crofton. Joe would rather a homeowner stand in front of the cabinets, counters, and finishes in person than guess from a small online photo. It leads to better decisions and far fewer regrets once the work is done.
Joe built our company around a fully in house team for the same reason. From the first design meeting to the last measurement on install day, the same people carry your project through. No handing the job to an outside crew who never met you. Joe believes that is how you keep quality steady and how you keep a homeowner informed at every step.
That belief shows up in who calls us back. Many of the families we work with return for a second or third project over the years, and some bring us into the next home they buy. Joe treats those repeat calls as the truest review our company can earn, because they come from neighbors who already know exactly how we work.
Joe also gives his time to the wider trade. He serves as Treasurer on the National Board of the National Association of the Remodeling Industry (NARI), helping guide the association’s work across the country, not just in Maryland.
