What Makes Our Elkridge Projects Different

Elkridge is the oldest settlement in Howard County, and its houses show it. Some date back two hundred years. Others went up in the last decade. Each one needs a different plan, and we have spent seven decades learning how to build the right one.

We stay dedicated to the same quality of work on every job, and our clients keep coming back for their next room because that standard never slips. Good project management is essential to a smooth process, and seven decades of remodeling experience is how we deliver one.

One Team From Design to Final Detail

The people who design your remodel are the same people who build it. That keeps communication clear and puts great attention on the details that outside crews tend to miss.

Howard County Permits, Handled

Structural, electrical, and plumbing work all need county approval. Our team prepares each application, lines up every inspection, and manages the process so the project keeps moving.

A Plan Built Around Your Budget

Some rooms need a full rebuild. Others need new surfaces on a layout that already works. We tell you which one your house needs, including when the smaller project is the smarter choice.

Materials You Can Touch First

You choose cabinets, countertops, tile, and fixtures at our showroom with a designer beside you. Seeing the real materials together takes the guesswork out of the biggest decisions.

Credentials You Can Verify

Our MHIC license number is 48957, and we carry full licensing and insurance. Verify it on the Maryland Home Improvement Commission site before you pick up the phone.

Elkridge MD Home Remodeling Built Around Your House

What Two Centuries of Elkridge Homes Taught Us

Elkridge started as Elk Ridge Landing, a colonial tobacco port on the Patapsco River that became the largest seaport north of Annapolis. Silt closed the port by the early 1800s, but the town kept growing, first around the iron furnaces and the B&O Railroad, and later along Route 1 and Route 100.

That long history left behind a wide mix of houses. A kitchen in the historic district and a kitchen in a townhome built ten years ago share almost nothing behind the cabinets.

The historic district along Main Street holds homes built between the 1820s and the 1920s. Owners usually added the kitchens and bathrooms in these houses later, and the framing rarely runs square. Custom cabinetry and careful measuring matter most here.

Mid century homes along the Route 1 corridor tend to have solid construction but closed off kitchens. Opening those layouts is the request we hear most often, and it almost always means structural work and a permit.

Newer homes near Route 100 and Montgomery Road have modern layouts and builder grade finishes. The structure is fine. The surfaces are what need upgrading, which keeps the budget and the schedule down.

Howard County wants to sign off before anyone changes the structure, the electrical, or the plumbing. That covers relocating a sink, running a new circuit, and removing a wall.

That side of the job belongs to us. Our team prepares the paperwork, schedules each county visit, and chases every approval to sign off. Your only job is to let the inspector in.

Permitted work also protects your home when you sell. County records show what the county approved and inspected, and buyers and appraisers both check.

Several Elkridge neighborhoods have homeowners associations, and the Elkridge Landing Historic District carries its own considerations. Most of that review covers what people can see from the street.

Interior kitchen and bathroom work usually moves forward without outside review, because nothing changes on the exterior. Read your own association rules first, and we will point out anything in your plan that might need a sign off.

If a review does apply, spotting it at the design stage keeps the calendar intact. Any requirement goes into the plan before we order a single material.

Rebuild, Rework, or Refresh

Every Elkridge MD Remodeling project starts with a clear look at what the house actually needs. From kitchen remodeling and bathroom remodelingevery scope runs through one team, whether it is a full rebuild or a surface refresh.

Elkridge MD Remodeling

Plenty of Elkridge kitchens only need one structural change to feel twice the size. Moving appliances and creating a better work path often matters as much as the square footage. Taking out a wall or adding an island changes how the room works without starting from nothing, and we handle the structural side and the permit that comes with it.

A room that looks great at noon can feel gloomy by evening. We place recessed cans, island pendants, under cabinet strips, and vanity lights on the drawings from the beginning, so the finished space works after dark too.

Choose an undermount, farmhouse, or vessel sink in a finish that matches your hardware. Our plumbers run the new lines, make every connection, and meet the county inspector wherever code requires one.

How Every Project Moves From Idea to Finished Room

A remodel is a big decision, and Elkridge homeowners want to know exactly what happens before they commit. Here is the process every project follows, from the first visit to the final walkthrough.

1

We Visit Your Elkridge Home

A designer comes to the house, looks at the space, checks what the existing plumbing and electrical can support, and listens to what you want the room to do. You leave that visit with a clear picture of what the project involves.

2

We Sort Out the Permits

We figure out which Howard County approvals your project type needs and handle the applications. Structural, electrical, and plumbing work all need them, and we would rather deal with that now than halfway through demolition.

3

You Choose Everything in Person

You come to our Crofton showroom and pick cabinets, counters, tile, and fixtures with a designer next to you. Seeing everything together means you approve the whole room rather than guessing from separate samples.

4

Custom Project Plan

Everything we measured and everything you picked becomes one written document, with dates and a total price. Nothing starts until you have read it and signed.

5

Our Crew Builds It

Our own team handles every trade, from demolition through the final coat of finish. The crew in your house at the end is the same crew that was there at the start.

6

Final Walkthrough

We go through every cabinet door, every tile line, and every fixture with you. We fix anything that falls short before we call the job complete, because your satisfaction decides when a project ends.

Questions Elkridge Homeowners Ask Us

Clear Answers About Elkridge MD Remodeling

Here are straight answers to the questions we hear most from homeowners across Elkridge and Howard County.

The cost of a remodel in Elkridge depends on the project type, the size of the room, whether walls or plumbing move, and the materials you choose.

A bathroom refresh that keeps the existing layout sits far below a kitchen that loses a wall and gains custom cabinetry. We visit your home for free, then give you a written estimate for your Elkridge MD remodeling project with the full scope laid out. You see the whole number before any work begins.

Timelines depend on scope, and we give you a realistic schedule during planning rather than a hopeful one.

Replacing surfaces in an existing layout moves much faster than a kitchen that changes shape. With no outside trades to wait on, our own crew keeps each phase moving, and we tell you straight away if anything changes once walls open up.

Yes, for most kitchen and bathroom remodels. Howard County requires permits for structural, electrical, and plumbing work.

Moving a sink, adding an outlet, or removing a wall all count. We file the applications and schedule the inspections as part of the job, so you never have to deal with the county yourself. You can review the county requirements on the Howard County Department of Inspections, Licenses and Permits site.

A full bathroom remodel covers the layout, the plumbing, the tile, the vanity, the fixtures, and the lighting, all handled by our own team.

Our bath designers walk through bathroom design ideas with you at the showroom, then plan the room around how you actually use it. For a master bathroom that often means a larger shower, more storage, and better light. Every stage runs through one crew from demolition to the final walkthrough.

Yes. We design and build custom cabinetry to the exact measurements of your kitchen.

That matters in Elkridge, where older homes near the historic Main Street area rarely have square walls. Our designers help you choose door style, finish, hardware, and interior organization at the showroom, and our own team handles the installation.

Yes. We hold MHIC license number 48957 and we are licensed and insured.

That number takes less than a minute to verify on the Maryland Home Improvement Commission site. Do the same for every Elkridge MD remodeling contractor on your shortlist, and put us through it first.

Yes. Every material decision happens in person at our showroom at 2146 Priest Bridge Court, Suite 2, Crofton, MD 21114.

Cabinets, countertops, tile, fixtures, and hardware all sit together so you can see how they work as a set. Photographs flatten color and texture, and seeing the real thing removes most of the second guessing that slows a project down.

Granite, quartz, natural stone, laminate, and butcher block all work well, and the right choice comes down to budget, upkeep, and style.

Granite and quartz handle heat and daily wear well. Laminate keeps the budget down. Natural stone brings character but needs more care. We lay out the pros and cons of each honestly so the choice feels easy.

No. We focus on kitchens, bathrooms, and custom cabinetry, and we keep our work inside those rooms.

That focus is deliberate. It means every designer and installer on our team works on the same kinds of projects every week, which shows in the finished result. If your plans include work outside that scope, we are happy to coordinate timing with another contractor.

No. Our in house team designs your Elkridge MD Remodeling project and builds it from start to finish.

Keeping the work in house gives you one team responsible for everything and one point of contact for questions. Good communication is much easier when the people who plan the job are the same people who build it.

Yes. We serve Elkridge, Ellicott City, Columbia, and other parts of Howard County, along with Anne Arundel County.

Remodeling Across Elkridge and Nearby Communities

We remodel kitchens and bathrooms throughout Elkridge and the surrounding parts of Howard County. Below are the areas we cover most often, with ZIP codes where they apply. Call (410) 451-5928 to confirm your address.

Our full service area reaches across Howard County and our home base in Anne Arundel County.

The homes in the historic district date from the 1820s through the 1920s, built along what was once the old Washington Turnpike. Owners added or rebuilt the kitchens and bathrooms here long after the houses went up, and walls are rarely square. In these homes, precise measuring and cabinetry built to fit decide how the finished room looks.

Homes along Washington Boulevard run from mid century builds to newer infill. Many kitchens still carry their original layouts, closed off from the living space. Homeowners here usually want those walls gone, and that means structural work plus a county permit.

Much of the newer construction in Elkridge sits here, with modern floor plans and builder grade kitchens and bathrooms. The bones are good. Surface upgrades like new cabinets, countertops, and tile bring these rooms up to the standard of the rest of the house.

Homes near the park tend to be family houses from the last few decades, where the master bathroom and the kitchen have seen heavy daily use. Updating both at once keeps the design consistent and reduces the time the house spends under construction.

Just up the Patapsco from Elkridge, Ellicott City mixes historic stone homes with larger modern builds. We bring the same design process and the same crew to kitchens and bathrooms throughout the area.

We also serve Columbia, Laurel, and Catonsville, along with our home base across Anne Arundel County. Call (410) 451-5928 to confirm we cover your address.
