Where to Save and Splurge in a Bathroom Remodel

A bathroom remodel can cost anywhere from $10,000-$50,000 depending on who you hire and what you want done. When you want to completely overhaul your bathroom, but your budget is tight, there are some things you don’t have to spend a lot of money on. Then you can use the remaining money to splurge on the items you really want.

Cheap Toilet and Toilet Seat Bidet

Let’s face it. Do you really need a $500 or $1,000 toilet plus matching bidet? No, and you can still have a new toilet with bide for less. Buy a standard white porcelain toilet with a toilet seat bidet. You might spend $200 or less for the entire set up. Sometimes you can even get a toilet for $60 at a close-out sale. The toilet seat bidet connects to the water source for your toilet and attaches like any other toilet seat. You still get your bidet and new toilet without having to pay hundreds of dollars.

Pop-Lock Waterproof Vinyl Flooring Instead of Tile

Ceramic bath tile of any size and color isn’t cheap and it isn’t cheap to install either. Opt instead for pop-lock waterproof vinyl flooring. It installs quickly, looks like stone or wood, but doesn’t need extra materials or time to place. Best of all, it’s just as waterproof as tile and far less slippery under wet feet.

Splurge on a Spa Tub or Whirlpool Tub

Dream of having a lovely soak in a spa jet tub or whirlpool tub? This is where you should definitely splurge for your bathroom remodel. Lucky for you there’s tubs of this type for as little as $2,000, and as much as $7,000, depending on how many different bells and whistles you want. You can still have a shower too when you install a multi-stage shower head in the wall surrounding your spa tub.
